Born and raised in Rialto, California, Monica is a first generation Mexican singer, rapper songwriter performer and MC. While she has spent years making music and preforming all over the US and Europe, she has spent the last 12 months exploring new sounds and finding a pocket in music that feels right for her.

Mentorship

In 2022, Monica was 1 of 50 artists chosen by the production super duo, Stargate, to work directly under them collaborating with other handpicked artists, producers, and engineers from around the world.

Stargate is responsible for producing some of the most groundbreaking and legendary songs of our time like Irreplaceable by Beyoncé, Diamonds, Rude Boy, Don’t Stop the Music and so many more notable hits by Rihanna. In addition to those insane credits, they were also the production behind a huge chunk of Ne-Yos catalog, Katy Perrys rise to fame, a few Shakira hits, and so much more.

Monica the great, live and in concert

Monica first debuted her new sound at the iconic venue, The Peppermint Club. Here, she hosted and preformed at the iconic LAAMP showcase, in front of not only her peers, but some legendary names in music. Her stage presence and desire to connect with her audience kept everyone engaged, and moved the night along commanding the attention of the crowd in a way not many artists can.

In July, Monica was the first artist ever to be hand picked by the Sorry Papi team to debut her single, Mala Vida. She rocked a 1,700 all women crowd and showed her pride and love for Mexico during an insane performance.

Not long after, she had her first ever headlining show in Los Angeles California, hosted by Majorstage. During her 30 minute set she had her audience dancing, laughing, crying, and singing together in an undeniably genuine way. The “Monica and Friends” show brought out a unique and diverse crowd that was full of energy from begining to end.
